How to use the Konjac Sponge and Jade Roller

Jade Roller Being Used On The Face

Move over painful exfoliators and expensive facials! The Konjac Sponge and Jade Roller are here and they are here to stay! These two powerful skincare tools are making waves in the skincare and beauty world and for good reason – they work, and they work well!

But, what are they?

The Konjac Sponge

This gentle exfoliator is made from the konjac root, a porous root vegetable that grows in Asia. It’s gentle enough for daily use, so is great for sensitive skin. Used with water, or our Makeup Remover & Cleanser for a deeper clean, it’ll remove even the most stubborn of makeup, so your pores are left clean and clear. They can also be used all over the body, not just on your face, so you can use yours on other acne-prone areas like the chest and back to ensure a deep clean. And here’s the cherry on the cake: they are compostable! Yes, that’s right – they are 100% biodegradable, so when it’s time for a new sponge, you can throw your old one away with your fruit and vegetable peels, guilt-free!

To use:

Simply soak your new sponge for 10-20 seconds in clean water to allow it to soften. Squeeze out the excess water and using gentle circular movements, scrub your face, starting at your chin and ending with your forehead. Rinse your face, then rinse your sponge thoroughly, and allow it to dry between uses. Apply your nighttime moisturiser or face oil and head to bed knowing your pores can breathe. Wake up fresh, radiant, and ready for the day!

While the konjac sponge is very effective on its own, you can combine it with our Makeup Remover & Cleanser to provide you with a relaxing deep clean.

The Jade Roller

A jade roller is a skincare tool made from jade – or quartz – stone and is used for facial massage to improve circulation and lymphatic drainage. The cool stone restricts blood flow to a certain area whilst the pressure pushes lymph to the lymph nodes, where it is processed and toxins removed. A jade roller can also help to reduce puffiness, tone the skin, and enhance your natural glow!

To use:

How to use a jade rollerApply Frankincense or Neroli B Face Oil to a clean face. Take your jade roller and move it from the centre of the face upward and outwards, rolling the stone towards your lymph nodes. Start at your chin and roll up towards your ear lobes; move to the side of your nose and roll up towards your temples; move to between your eyebrows and roll diagonally up towards your hairline. The upward movements are also a counter-balance – defying gravity as it were – which helps to tighten and tone skin. Jade stones are naturally cool to the touch, but you may like to keep your roller in the fridge for that extra-cool feel.
